HP SmartStream is a graphic arts portfolio of workflow components for creating digital printing production solutions that meet a broad range of market segments and application needs. The brochure below more fully describes HP SmartStream and how it can add value to any HP Indigo press purchase.

HP SmartStream Designer

HP SmartStream Designer - EVERY HP Indigo press comes with HP SmartStream Designer software and is therefore ready to produce full colour, personalised collateral "out of the box" with no hidden licensing fees attached! This application provides robust variable data printing and imposition tools designed specifically to optimise output from HP Indigo digital presses. Available as a plug-in for Adobe InDesign or as XTension software for QuarkXPress, HP SmartStream Designer utilises SNAP, an HP Indigo proprietary RIP-less data assembly technology, to ensure that the press operates at full speed even when printing complex variable data jobs.

HP SmartStream Print Servers

The HP SmartStream Onboard Print Server - is an on-press intregrated RIP that is built into every commercial sheet fed press except the 7000 series.

The HP SmartStream Production Pro Print Server - is a high-performance raster image processor and press controller designed to drive large volumes of jobs, including complex variable-data jobs. This off-press solution takes workflow tasks out of the press room and puts them in the pre-press environment where they can be efficiently and centrally managed.

A highly flexible, centralized and scalable solution, the server can manage up to 12 HP Indigo presses, with automatic load balancing and single point of control. With robust integration to print service providers’ management information systems, the Production Pro facilitates efficient management of production processes.

Both the Production Pro and the Production Plus Print Servers support standard file formats, including Personalized Print Markup Language, Optimized PDF and Postscript®.

The HP SmartStream Production Plus Print Server - Powered by Creo, includes a complete graphic arts feature set for out-of-the-box job control. This off-press solution is compatible with all HP Indigo commercial sheetfed presses and is now scalable to drive multiple presses from a single server rack. Production Plus features advanced hybrid offset/digital production support for Prinergy.

Both the Production Pro and the Production Plus Print Servers support standard file formats, including Personalized Print Markup Language, Optimized PDF and Postscript®.

The HP SmartStream Labels and Packaging Print Server - powered by EskoArtwork, is a high performance RIP, digital front end and workflow controller for the HP Indigo ws4500 and ws6000. It can reside in your pre-press environment or near the press. From its centralised location, it assures highly efficient file processing. Add-on options provide best in class colour control, and tools for bar-coding, enhanced step & repeat and high quality variable data output. The server enables connectivity to central EskoArtwork workflow solutions, as well as to other workflow components and MIS solutions.

With extensive space for storing a tremendous number of jobs, the server scales to adopt system upgrades and increased workflow requirements. This solution also addresses your production needs through ICC colour management, and includes pre-press tools in the native environment of Adobe Illustrator.
